How it Works
faceREGISTER - How it Works
faceREGISTER units are installed at convenient entry/exit points on campus. Each unit is connected to the school network providing communication with the faceREGISTER server and onward to the school MIS server.

During initial enrolment of each student, several reference facial pictures are taken by the unit for future comparison and the administrator will allocate a PIN number. The whole procedure is quickly accomplished.
When registering in or out, students present themselves in front of the faceREGISTER unit and enter their PIN. The unit checks both the individual’s facial features and PIN, updates attendance information within the unit and automatically forwards this to the MIS system. All this happens in under three seconds.
In cases of lateness, a list of reasons defined by the school is displayed on the faceREGISTER unit from which the student makes an appropriate selection. This data is logged and forwarded to the MIS system.
Key Features:
- Students and others can self-register without any supervision.
- Registering in or out takes less than three seconds.
- Initial enrolment onto the system is quick and easy.
- System recognises students even as they grow and features change.
- System continues to work even in the event of network or server failures.
- Fully compatible with all leading school MIS systems.
faceMANAGER - How it Works

The comprehensive faceMANAGER administration software provides configuration, monitoring and control of multiple faceREGISTER units. It is loaded onto one or more PCs connected to the school network, for use by one or more nominated administrators. Initial population of student details may be directly from the school MIS system, or imported manually in CSV format.
The faceMANAGER software provides accurate information of exactly who is onsite, who has registered in or out, as well as details of lateness. It also provides the means to inspect and edit individual student records including face recognition images and PIN numbers.
Comprehensive reports by individual student, or by year or registration group, over specific dates and times may be selected and created on-demand. Reports can be created and stored as PDF files or exported as Excel files. Additionally, reports can be created to assist in EMA payment processes.
faceCOLLEGIATE - How it Works
faceCOLLEGIATE is the solution to monitor students attending different sites for courses within a 14-19 Partnership. If your school has a problem knowing if students have attended lessons at other schools or colleges then Aurora can help. faceCOLLEGIATE links schools together using faceREGISTER so that the home school can simply log on and view the attendance records of students who have attended other sites within the 14-19 Partnership or Collegiate group.
It doesn’t matter what MIS system your school or other schools in your collegiate group use as faceCOLLEGIATE will link to all MIS systems.
faceCOLLEGIATE will definitely save you time and money in administering which student is attending lessons on another site. Aurora has also thought about the implications for work placements and other such placements outside of the school/college environment.
